Almost thirty years ago there existed .avi files but no torrents were yet envisioned. This torrent contains two old avi files, which were given to me in person by a friend from Yugoslavia. It seems, and it can be verified here https://www.csfd.cz/tvurce/3166-frantisek-cap/prehled/, that František Čap not only spend some years living in Yugoslavia, but was also given the opportunity to work there as a movie director. This two 700 MB avi files contain a TV rip of a Čap comedy in two parts, which he produced with mostly Yugoslavian actors and technical staff. In last week people started valuable contributions to StK posting hard-to-get Czechoslovakian oldies. This torrent contains 2 movies, previously unpublished on this site.

So what's the movie about? Čap essentially invented a Black Adder, before the Black Adder. The final exam (maturita) in mathematics is approching. Macho spends all his time and energy for dating girls, taking them to dances, walks is the city park etc. We do not really see that happening on screen, but all teenagers are speaking about it, so I buy this premise. As a consequence, his knowledge of mathematics is in the neighbourhood of zero, so he is essentially in deep shit. Fiddler spends countless hours playing his violine and seriously plans to enlist the Faculty of Arts and Music next year, and consequently didn't spend enough time learning math, so he is rather nervous about the outcome of the inevitable exam.
Macho devises a fox-cunning plan how to essentialy cheat during the exam and therofere achive a passing mark. Fiddler is a gentle artistic soul, in practical matters under Macho's influence, so he is easily talked into going along with it. Pilot is smart, interested in mechanical enginering and construction of aeroplans. He is good at mathematics and has no worries about the big exam. He hates the idea of cheating, but in the end his bond to the one-for-all-all-for-one principle of Trio Fantasticus prevails. The cunning plan is set in motion.
Unfortunately for Trio Fantasticus and fortunately for Comedy, Macho is not Black Adder but Baldrick. With Black Adder nowhere in sight, the cunning plan goes wrong, triggering a lot of funny events and one romantic outspin - the love story between Vesna-Janja and Pilot, which starts among the clouds and ends on a big tree, swinging in the ropes of a broken parachute. To the lovers of nudity in cinema, František Čap now shows his middle finger and turns his camera off, so if you hope to see the boobies of a beautiful female lead at the end, there is a little spoiler for you: no you want. But don't be sad, there is enough XXX material on this site. XXX girls are not as beautiful, but one should not complain about what is provided to him free of charge.
More luck for you in part two (joking, joking, hehe). Pilot never allows František and his crew to follow Vesna-Janja and him in their bedroom, even after in part two they became barelly legal.

The part of František Čap's comedy open with a scene happening about half a year after the last scene of Vesna. It's setting is an entirely logical continuation of the fact, that all five of main teenage characters successfully passed the big math exam and are thus, by the rules of the era, allowed to enlist in a public University of Ljubljana and are now all first year students. Old Math Professor still works at his high school and is therefore absent from the screen for the first half of the second movie. Janja is still Pilot's Vesna. Pilot also seriously participates in a FME research project about improving the design of a certain type of small plane. Fiddler discovers that in his private life, beside enjoying Mozart at FAMFTV, he likes the idea of jazz music, which starts to "arrive" into Yugoslavia after the big break between Tito and Stalin in 1948, so he helps to found a small jazz group which has gigs, intended for student population, in various venues around the city. One of their songs is entitled Ne čakaj na maj (don't waith for the month of May), and František Čap used this song title as the title of the entire Vesna sequel, the second part of his comedy.

Of course we do not feel sorry for him, as his problem is silly, artificial, selfmade and feels like a just punishment. His behaviour towards Miss Big Ugly Glasses would nowadays be called bullying. Not harassment or violence, František Čap would mix comedy with tragedy, but making mean jokes about her glasses and her curvy figure.
With the arrival of jazz music, Miss Big Ugly Glasses becames Miss Jazz Singer in Fiddler's band and Ne čakaj na maj is her first hit. Upon hearing her voice, for the first time really listening to her, he unwilingly becomes erotically charged and instead of a topic of Macho's tastless jokes, Miss Curvy with her smooth jazz becomes Macho's erotic fantasy. This, as of itself, is not a problem at all. Macho has no problems with with his sexuality, knows what makes him hard and does not hesitate for a moment to enter in an erotic relationship with Miss Curvy Jazz Singer when it becomes clear to him that she is not indifferent to his courting and eventually falls in love with him. (if you expect to see at least Miss Jazz Singer boobies for a second or two, please note that František Čap did not change his mind about no nudity in 4 years he was preparing a sequel; also do not expect to see some explicit images of Macho's fantasy; for Čap it is all about facial expression, devouring his lover with his eyes while she is on stage performing; if you are a heterosexual male, be honest and dig in your student memories and admit to yourself what you were really thinking when you gave that kind of look into direction of your then-lover; this is what František Čap is counting on - for you to in fill in the the huge amount of details from a rather short scene).
The selfmade problem however is, that for some reason he does not want even his closest friends to know about his new and obviously not casual love affair. František Čap shows us his torment and also something else, which is in fact hilarious. Nobody else gives a shit about this matter. People surrounding Macho have too dreams of their own, plans, love affairs which consumes their thoughts etc. Even if Macho were to post a note "I spend my nights in the bedroom of Miss Jazz" on university notice bords, nobody would be interested in this. His torment is selfinflicted, alas a form of just punishment, and trigged not by his love of Curvy Girl, but by his shame of being Mr. Bully. The mere fact that Mr. Bully now falls in love with Miss Victim equals to the public proclamation "I Macho, former Mr. Bully, was a stupid idiot for most part of my life". It takes some time to work this one out, I guess.

While Macho fights with his inner demon forcing him to admit to himself that he was an asshole in high school, Comedy gets the second opening. In a heated debate Janja-Pilot's Vesna utter a little lie "I'm pregnant" (it turns out latter that Pilot and Vesna are not (yet) expecting.
Word spreads around town and everybody gets exited. When, if ever, will be a marriage, what to buy for a new toddler etc. The star of the second part of Čap's second movie is nor Old Math Professor, who must obviosly first start, with the gentle help of his sister, to digest the fact that his daughter didn't inform him of this big news in advance, and secondly embark an epic journey of Grumpy Old Man into World's Best Grandpa.
